Only days away from the band taking the stage again, our forum members have been doing their best to burn off the excitement that comes with U2 being back on tour. Some of us have taken a moment to recall what our first U2 show was like. Others are thinking about other cultures by discussing their favorite foreign-language films. And of course, a fair number of us are chomping at the bit to see what the band will be including in their set list as they take to the stage. That discussion has already begun for the Turin show.

There’s less than a week to go until the 2010 U2 360 tour kicks off, and it’s anybody’s guess if the entire band has had a full rehearsal together. Fans in Italy have reported hearing several U2 songs playing inside Turin’s Olympic Stadium, but the recordings sound (to me) more like U2 performances from past tours than a live soundcheck/rehearsal. (Like this one on YouTube.)

Entertainment Tonight reported on-air Saturday that Bono and Edge were expected at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding in New York as guests of President Bill Clinton. Adam Clayton, however, spent some time visiting with fans outside the stadium at around 6:00 pm local time in Turin (see photo above right, via Cristian Bernardinelli). The interview that Bono was supposed to do Friday with an Italian TV show never happened; one Italian newspaper reported that Bono still hadn’t arrived in Turin, but some fans are certain they’ve seen him.

At this point, the only thing I’m confident in reporting is that the tour starts next Friday.
